I actually prefer the MCU to the Marvel comics. I’ve been trying to get into them (I just bought the whole Extremis arc of Iron Man) but something hit me when I was flipping through the latest Thor issue. Thor’s eyes are super small. In fact, most panels he’s in a position where they’re covered completely or at a far off angle or squinted and it’s hard for me to read his expressions completely. Contrast this with looking at Chris Hemsworth as Thor and I can easily read every emotion he’s giving and thus have a much closer connection and emotional investment. And as much as I love the MCU, in terms of actual comic lore, I’m with DC (at least classic pre-New 52 DC) because no Marvel roster of villains has impressed me as much as Batman’s rogues gallery. And I’m not even sorry to say Batman: The Animated Series was leaps and bounds ahead of X-Men the Animated Series.

Dear god they did spot-on casting for the 2 younger Gatsbys

I had no idea I wanted a pipe organ in my Gatsby story. But now I am so glad I got one.

I’m still getting over the fact that a sanitarium was used in a film that takes place in the 20’s and it’s actually beneficial to the person who stays there rather than embody several gothic tropes

Despite hearing so little from Isla Fisher, her accent intrigues me enough to picture her as Harley Quinn.

Megan’s review has got me wondering if Tumblr will make a Nice Guy Gatsby meme.

Now I’m not satisfied with the soundtrack released. I want the full movie score, including the pipe organ rendition of “Crazy In Love”

Also, I’m waiting for Tumblr to make a gif set of Nick in the sanitarium “I’m telling you, I can swing through New York City with nothing but a web I can make!” “Oh now that’s just crazy talk, everyone knows the only man who can do that is Andrew Garfield!”

I’ve been on a cosplay rush today

First I got red leather to make my Sif tunic dress for SDCC (oh god this is really happening I’m going to make armor for the first time halp)

Then I got patterns for a bolero jacket and skirt for Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite (just find the right corset and it shouldn’t take too long at all)

And now I just ordered a Padme costume online for my town’s Star Wars fest (the white fanservice-y suit)
