One thing I love about SDCC is that eventually everyone’s normalcy gets shed off. For instance, I saw a mother and her toddler son, and they weren’t wearing costumes, I don’t think they were even wearing superhero shirts. And then the boy ran off and the mother shouted, “Come back here, Tiberius!!” and I thought OIC NOW

You know, equality is a myth, and for some reason, everyone accepts the fact that women don’t make as much money as men do. I don’t understand that. Why do we have to take a backseat? I truly believe that women should be financially independent from their men. And let’s face it, money gives men the power to run the show. It gives men the power to define value. They define what’s sexy. And men define what’s feminine. It’s ridiculous.

So looking through the NYCC gallery reminded me when I was at this year’s Chicago Wizard World I overheard a girl dressed as Lady Loki vehemently stating, “THIS IS NOT RULE 63, THIS IS CANON!”

So last night I dreamed I was in the world of and with the characters of The Cabin in the Woods only instead of us being forced to play into horror movie tropes Chris Hemsworth’s character and I got separated from the gang and we were forced to play into porno movie tropes.

I just realized my biggest fandom problem isn’t that my favorite characters always die, it’s that my favorite ships never become canon.

Today I got things settled for the new apartment I’m going to move into next month, had lamb shawarma with my brother, and performed burlesque in front of a live audience for the first time. All in all, a very productive feel-good day.

Whenever I scroll through my dash and over half of it’s “DESTIEL 4EVER” or, “Come on guys, we have to beat Sterek at the polls!” I’m just sitting here like I’m doing the “This does not affect me in any way ‘cause I don’t watch either show” dance.

Wait a tick.

  • Wears leather pants
  • Knows magic

It all makes sense now. My feels for Jareth from Labyrinth I had in high school have simply manifested into my feels for Loki. It’s like “This fictional character’s done a lot of shady shit—OOH HE’S FLICKING HIS HANDS IN A SEXY WAY”  can never go away, only change forms. Which is weird, because irl I’m the opposite in that as soon as I find a strong personality flaw in a guy, I find him less physically hot. Almost like I’m the Fox and he’s the Grapes I find too sour to tap.

My friend, who is fully aware I’m an aspiring artist looking for work in drawing and animation: Hey, are you busy today?

Me: Well, I’m drawing right now.

My friend: Sweet! So you’re not doing anything today!

Me:

How my day at Wizard World went:

Got my portfolio finally reviewed! The guy in charge said my illustrations were charming and adorable, and liked the fact I knew exactly what I was good at and what career I wanted, as according to him not many artists know what they want to do for a living and just dabble in everything.

Then I met a friend from previous cons, and I may or may not be getting my first job designing flyers/postcards for a nerd-themed burlesque group, as well as being a performer there dancing and doing comedic routines as Harley Quinn…
